What is SocialWire?

SocialWire is a social listening tool for publishers and newsrooms. You follow lists of public accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, YouTube and Bluesky, and it flags the posts doing far better than normal for each account.

What replaced CrowdTangle?

Meta replaced CrowdTangle with the Meta Content Library, which is limited to approved academic and nonprofit researchers and journalists at nonprofit news organizations. Other options include NewsWhip, Socialinsider and Junkipedia. SocialWire brings back CrowdTangle's list and overperforming workflow for publishers, with monthly plans.

Is SocialWire affiliated with Meta or CrowdTangle?

No. SocialWire is an independent company, built by journalists.

Which platforms does SocialWire cover?

Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, YouTube and Bluesky. One list can hold accounts from all six.

Do you cover TikTok or Reddit?

Not at launch.

How is the ×normal score calculated?

Each post's interactions are divided by that account's typical post. A post at 6× normal is doing six times better than that account usually does.

How often is data updated?

You choose the schedule for each list: every 4 hours, twice a day, daily, or on demand. The schedule is the same on every plan.

Do I have to wait for data to build up?

No. When you add an account, its recent posts load right away. SocialWire keeps every post it collects, so your history grows the longer you use it.

Can SocialWire alert me when something breaks out?

Yes. Set alerts on a list or an account and SocialWire tells you when a post takes off.

What are AI reports?

A written summary of what's happening across a list, sent by email. Each report looks at up to about 300 posts, and you choose whether it covers the newest posts or the highest-engagement ones.

Can I search posts?

Yes. Search across all the posts in SocialWire from your dashboard, or search within a single list.

Can I track follower growth?

Yes. SocialWire records follower counts every day for each account you track.

Can I track any account?

You can track public accounts. SocialWire doesn't access private accounts, private groups or messages.

Can I use SocialWire with Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant?

Yes. Connect SocialWire to Claude or ChatGPT and ask questions about your lists in plain language. It's included on Pro and Enterprise plans, and it's a $29 a month add-on on Starter.

Can I export data?

Yes. You can export a list's posts to CSV.

Can my whole team use it?

Yes. Pro includes 5 users with roles for who can add accounts and change settings. Enterprise plans have unlimited users.

Do I need a card for the free trial?

Yes. We ask for a card when you start so nothing is interrupted when the trial ends. You won't be charged until day 15, and we'll email you a reminder before then. Cancel any time before that and you pay nothing.

How much does it cost?

Starter is $99 a month for up to 15 accounts. Pro is $249 a month for up to 45 accounts and 5 users. Enterprise plans are custom. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and annual plans get two months free. See pricing.

Do I need a demo call or an annual contract?

No. You can start on your own and cancel any time. If you're setting up a whole team, tell us your team size when you sign up and we'll help.

Can I cancel and delete my data?

Yes. You can cancel from Settings, and delete your account and everything stored with it, including saved images.

Who built SocialWire?

An Emmy- and Peabody-winning team of journalists from NBC, ABC and Mashable. SocialWire grew out of Roone, a newsroom tool we built earlier, after we saw that people mostly used it to track what was breaking out on social.
